CZ Scorpion Evo 3 S1 Pistol
The CZ SCORPION EVO 3 A1 is a semi-automatic version of the current pistol caliber carbine legend. It has a basic design that makes it easy to manage, exceedingly reliable, extremely light, and highly accurate. It’s a great rifle for security forces and sport shooters alike.
We reviewed the CZ Scorpion EVO 3 S2 Pistol Micro w/ Folding Brace a few months ago and loved it! Today, we’ll take a look at the CZ Scorpion EVO 3 S1 Pistol, which is slightly larger. CZ is a firm that is clearly focused on creating innovative and entertaining weaponry.
At first appearance, the CZ Scorpion EVO 3 S1 handgun is an intriguing weapons made almost completely of polymer.
On the outside, it doesn’t appear to be particularly sturdy, but it does have a really appealing appearance. The EVO is a 9mm pistol caliber carbine that is tiny and compact.
The rifle has a Picatinny rail on top and three Picatinny rails on the front at three, six, and nine o’clock on the handguard. At least in terms of safety, it is ambidextrous. We’ll get into more detail about that later.
The top rail of the CZ Scorpion EVO 3 S1 pistol is equipped with metal iron sights. The SB Tactical brace on this model is foldable.
CZ Scorpion Evo 3 S1 Pistol
The grip ergonomics of the CZ Scorpion EVO 3 S1 pistol are a little dubious, with the most of the issues centered around the pistol grip.
Aside from the grip, the front of the gun feels wonderful when held in a C Clamp configuration.
It feels easier to me to hold it at the magazine well, which is normally a big no-no, especially when shooting ARs.
The Scorpion EVO 3 S1 appears to be very comfortable to hold in the C-Clamp type grip.
A black hand stop is included with the EVO 3 S1. My model is gray, however there is also an all-black version.
In the forward position, I actually use it as a hand stop. As a result, I don’t let my hand get too close to the gun’s end.
Normally, I use this gun suppressor.
I generally run this rifle suppressed, therefore I don’t want to unintentionally bump my suppressor. Instead of using the hand stop in the pullback position, I normally slide my hand all the way to the front and use it as a stop in the forward position. Other than the grip, the Scorpion’s safety is possibly the most divisive or despised aspect of the weapon.
When the gun is in the fire position, the safety is a problem.
It will poke into your trigger finger on the right-hand side of the gun, which is usual for right-handed shooters.
You’ll be hit by the safety even if your trigger finger is on the trigger itself.
A safety delete button is made by HB Industries, and the safe

However, depending on where the safety is located, you may be willing to forego the ambidextrous safety in exchange for a more pleasant shooting experience.
A selector in the style of an AK-47 is also available from HB Industries, as well as a few other variants.
Personally, I chose YetiWurks’ CZ Scorpion grip because I loved the style and the fact that it was color-matched to the same gray as this Scorpion EVO 3 S1.
The grip is practically at a 60-degree angle, which is a very non-fluid angle for handling weapons.
The safety selector and grip, according to most folks, are the first things they replace on their Scorpion.
There are a plethora of aftermarket grips available, and on this particular model,

The various angles that exist are plainly visible. That angle is simply not suitable for a human hand to handle a handgun in the manner in which they normally do. Because the stock magazine release is incorporated into the frame, many people dislike it.
It’s actually fairly simple to use this magazine release.
The one thing that everyone complains about is that it isn’t particularly protruding and can be difficult to hit at times.
As a result, many individuals will buy another paddle-style magazine from HB Industries.
Personally, I have no objections to the magazine release, therefore I’ll likely keep my stock and avoid switching to the pro stock or duckbill style magazine release. They are, nonetheless, excellent choices if you have a limited budget.
CZ Scorpion Evo 3 S1 Pistol
The CZ Scorpion EVO 3 S1 is a short semi-automatic gun based on the CZ submachine gun’s most recent iteration.
The S1 model differs from the A1 model in that it is made of original parts that have been re-built to work as a semi-automatic only, and its selector/safety has only two positions: Safe and Fire – shooting single bullets. In all other respects, the S1 model retains the superior ergonomics and shooting performance of its predecessor, making it an ideal weapon for modern and dynamic sport shooting disciplines.
The CZ-USA Scorpion EVO 3 S1 is a semi-automatic pistol with a 9 mm blowback mechanism. It’s actually a group of eight models with a variety of colors and magazines to choose from. A fully automatic version of this pistol is used by the Czech military. The civilian variant is designated as S1.
Black, olive drab green (OD green), battleship gray, and field dark earth are the color options (FDE). There are two magazine options: a large capacity 20 round magazine and a low capacity 10 round magazine.
CZ’s design philosophy is based on having the fewest parts possible do the greatest job, as fewer parts equals fewer difficulties.

The front and rear sights are mounted on an 11-inch long Picatinny accessory rail on the top of the rifle. Front and rear sights are available.
Black metal trapezoidal pyramid bases with serrated downward rear slopes are seen on both the front and rear sights. It’s a post sight, not a front sight. The back sight can be adjusted completely. It features four different sight options that must be manually cycled through to find the best aperture.
The handguard on this cannon is made in the shape of a tumblehome. It’s not an M-LOK, but it’s intriguing nonetheless. The handguard’s bottom juts out to roughly the thread, not as far as the flash suppressor’s nose. It rises at a modest slant and then dips back rakishly to the front sight and top rail just above the barrel. A medium-length Picatinny accessory rail runs along the bottom, with a black triangular front.
CZ Scorpion Evo 3 S1 Pistol
On either side, there’s a black triangle hand stop and another medium-length Picatinny rail. As an aside, the middle of each tie on all four Picatinny rails is missing, leaving a canyon along each rail. This is significant since it demonstrates CZ’s commitment to losing weight. The gun’s 7.72″ long cold hammer forged barrel is small and compact.
Although the height is 9.4”, the overall length is 16.5”. It only weighs 5.0 pounds!
The CZ-USA Scorpion has an 18×1 threaded muzzle and a 1/2″x28 TPI threaded muzzle with a slotted flash suppressor as standard.
The gun has ambidextrous controls (such as the magazine release and trigger safety) and a swappable charging system.
CZ Scorpion Evo 3 S1 Pistol
Handle can be used with either the left or right hand. The mag release, which lies on the front of the trigger guard, resembles an inverted trigger. To release the magazine, simply tip it forward.
Polymer is used for the frame, grip, and magazine. The grip is unusual in that it is tall and narrow. The front and rear have long vertical serrations, but the sides are smooth.
It, like the magwell, is flared at the bottom. A mechanical single action trigger is used to fire the weapon.
A high capacity 20 round curved box polymer magazine or a reduced capacity 10 round magazine are included with this pistol. The magazine flanks are translucent, so as the magazine empties, one can see the rounds within (or simply the spring).
